Exploring Silver Lake

Silver Lake is known for its artist hangouts, hilly neighborhoods and rocker style.

Local things to do and see:

  • Scout Sunset Junction – Where Sunset Blvd and Santa Monica Blvd Meet. Bustling with trendy shops, eclectic restaurants, numerous bars and throngs of hipsters.
  • Walk the Reservoir – A 2.2 mile jogging path surrounds the reservoir, Silver Lake’s namesake.
  • Shop the Farmer’s Market – On Tuesdays 2-7.30 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM – 1 PM, shop for fresh produce or local jewelry at Sunset Blvd and Hyperion Blvd.
  • Hike Griffith Park – With over 4,210 acres of both natural terrain and landscaped parkland and picnic areas, Griffith Park is one of the largest urban parks in the US, complete with miles of hiking trails, a zoo, carousel and amphitheater.
  • Discover the Band – Spaceland is a divey launch pad for music acts, where the hipsters buy the album before we ever hear of them.
  • El Sid - Go for the venue not the food. Beautiful, classic establishment that hosts a huge variety of local acts, including recordings of The Moth and renowned Flamenco dancing.
